I loved Nick and Charlie! I read this book after i’d read Heartstopper (which is the perfect order to read them by the way). I loved Heartstopper, it’s my comfort read, where I can sit down and relax. Yet, I loved the novella about Nick and Charlie. Alice Oseman perfectly portrays thoughts and feelings of a loved one moving away with this book and Charlie’s feelings on Nick’s move.
Nick is moving away for University and as Charlie is the year below Nick, Year 12 going to Year 13, he will only be joining him the following year. This book is heart wrenching and also relieving, it shows another side to Nick and Charlie, after them first getting together and Nick coming out to everyone. It shows them growing with one another, and staying in love throughout their hardships and the fact they will be long distance. It truly shows Nick and Charlie’s love for eachother and it’s a perfect portrayal of a LGBTQIA couple.
This book has humour, romance and heartbreak all in one little novella. Alice Oseman has truly done an amazing job.

It was a nice story, though I didn't love the miscommunication trope, especially after seeing Nick and Charlie's growth as a couple in the Heartstopper series.

a short but sweet little story. feels weird to read what i believe is chronologically the final(?) story of nick and charlie before reading all of heartstopper, but that’s all the more reason to give this a reread once i get through all of that. this has heart, nice characters, and isn’t afraid to go to some effective dramatic places. all the stuff i appreciated about solitaire, too. who woulda thunk?
