While I was reading this book I kept thinking that maybe it was a re-issue. Some of the terms and plot points felt very dated. Anyway, overall the plot was ok. I felt that it dragged and the ending seemed to crazy to believe.

2.5 stars. There is a lot that I enjoyed about Love at First Fight - I love Much Ado About Nothing and I loved all the references to it - but there were so many instances that annoyed me too. Jokes that “real men” don’t enjoy spas, Oh-you-stood-me-up-10-years-ago-and-that-ruined-all-my-other-relationships, the Hattie and Cal drama (yes, it’s in Much Ado About Nothing too, but it’s not the best part of the play either), ... a very mixed bag.

This book was read thanks to NetGalley, however it didn't intervened with my review.

This is a sweet book of people who met from a very young age and grow together hating "each other" I love this kind of stories because lets me questioning how we fall in love and how we develop feelings with someone.

I really recommend this book for those who love sweet love stories.

This book took me by surprise, I loved Bridie and Ben and the unexpected pieces of Cal and Hettie were a really nice additional element. Hearing different stories within a group of friends, and each of it from a different angle added so much extra to the story.

The relationships actually felt real, the conversations and miscommunications have happened to nearly all of us and I found that very refreshing. Yes, some of the story was a little predictable but then what romcom isn’t nowadays?

The writing style was realistic, I loved the fast paced quick wit sarcasm of Bridie and Ben. From meddling friends to detective style sleuthing I would really recommend giving this a read!

okay , honestly this book was adorably cute , the second chance romance was a pretty cool thought to me , but sadly , it didn’t give in a way , I expected more like banter , and the friends played like Cupid way too easily , it would have been cooler if it was like a series for all the whole friend group , then there would be more banter or plot for each character

Such fun read. The first couple of chapters had me hooked with funny dialogue and interesting characters. I liked the fact that the two main characters had a interesting history that gave the story more depth. The only thing I kind of didn’t like was how fast everything between them got resolved and the way it got resolved. It felt too easy and took a way from the story. But in the end a fun read. 3 out of 5

Thank you Aria & Aries and netgalley for letting me read this one and give my honest opinion.

I bloody love Much ado about nothing so any contemporary retelling is up right my street.

I needed something light after a really heavy read and this was perfect. This book was FUNNY. Really easy read and great twist at the end.

This was a cute, light hearted, frienemies to lovers romance. It was a little slow for me, and there seemed to be two stories in this novel. The Bridie & Ben love story and the Hattie & Cal story. I think it would have done better having only one of the stories as the plotline. I really liked both couples in this book, but really wish we could have seen more of Bridie and Ben's story, a bit more about the chase and of them being together. It seemed like, once they got together, we didn't really have much more romance thrown in.

Unfortunately, this was just a middle of the road book for me. It was a quick and easy read, that I'm sure some people will love and enjoy. I received a copy of this from NetGalley and the publisher for an open and honest review. All opinions are 100% mine.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Aria&Aries for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest review.

Simply awful. Some things I've read on this book I don't think it would be possible for me to still read in a book from 2021. Seems to me that the author is still a bit stuck on her own preconceived notions, like suggesting that it's "gay" to practice self-care. Absurd.

Anyway, there's tons of great books out there, so I'll use my time reading and reviewing them--it's better this way.
