If I could give this 10 stars, I would. It was a tough listen, but Jennette’s story is so inspiring. If you read one memoir this year, let it be this.

I am glad her mom died too! Finished in a little over 4 hours, Jennette wrote a memoir that I honestly could not put down. No, seriously. I got very few hours of sleep because I needed to read until her Mom died. Could NOT be resting peacefully until I got to that point, and even then I only put this down when I was forced by my weighted eyelids.

Okay so I first tried to read this over a year ago (actually listen, it was the audiobook this time) but I was only at the start of my own eating disorder recovery and it was far too much for me to be able to read at the time. I tried again and I won’t lie, this was still one of the hardest things I’ve ever read. This is a ROUGH read but is also sometimes hilarious and the tone is perfect at every moment. I absolutely loved this, partially because of how relatable it was bus also because Jennette is just a truly amazing writer. That said, I think anyone who’s in eating disorder recovery and is still a little shaky maybe shouldn’t read this. I’m not sure I should’ve even read this yet but honestly it’s a testament to Jennette’s writing that I was fully unable to stop.
