If you ever wonder about what life in rural Montana is like, this will give you perspective. It captures the essence of what we call "Class C" life.
Very sad at the beginning, but then things start looking up a bit, and you find yourself turning the pages faster and faster. I forgot to rate this when I finished it, and then I caught sight of it on the shelf at the library today and I wanted to give it a hug. This and "The Art of Fielding," are definite keepers on my list of quality sports-related fiction.

I believe this is a book that will remain in my mind and memory for a long time! One of the best I've read.
This is a great fun moving read and it contains some truly awful writing. I am considering it using it to teach writing because it's such a contrast between parts that work and parts that made me cringe.
