Honestly Gaiman is pretty hit or miss for me at this point, but this was a pretty good collection and I do really like his reading voice so I can just drift in and out if I'm not really feeling it. It's been awhile since I've listened to any of his other anthologies but I think most of these stories were new to me so that was nice [he tends to reuse them a fair bit from what I've noticed].

The three stories that really stood out to me in this were the Sherlock Holmes story, the Doctor Who story, and the American Gods story [which I notice he's always smart enough to put last to end his anthologies on a high note] so I think having three stories like that from known properties helped bump this up from a 2 to a 3 star read for me personally.

A lot of his stuff is really good but any time he writes about women in the context of what he apparently thinks of as 'romance' my entire body seizes up and I just absolutely hate it. This one definitely had a lot less of that than other collections I've read but there were still several points where I was rolling my eyes like really Neil?

Excellent collection of short stories (or fictions) and poems by Neil Gaiman. Thank you, Neil Gaiman. You made a long travel day completely bearable, and then became an excellent companion for a day of rest. The stories were nicely executed, and some had twists that were, to me, completely unexpected. That is where the delight and the little shivers come in.

I always liked Gaiman's short fiction a lot more than his novels, because it highlights his qualities as a person of ideas and weirdnesses and doesn't bog him down with too much plot. This is no exception.

Neil Gaiman's short stories fit a very specific mood. This is not a bad thing, and in fact it could be a good thing if you're in that mood, but if you're only in it sometimes then it can be tricky to read through. It's taken me a while to get through this book because of that phenomenon, but I'm glad I got there in the end.

Trigger Warning is, overall, a solid book of short stories from a solid modern author. Not every single story resonates, but that's okay - the nice thing about short stories is that if one isn't to your taste, it'll be over relatively quickly and then you're on to the next one. And who knows where that will take you?

If you're looking for something more bite-sized to read in this current climate, and you've enjoyed Gaiman's writing in the past, then go for it! You'll be bound to find something you like inside.

I know I've said this before, but I can't possibly be objective where Neil Gaiman's work is concerned. I loved most of the stories in Trigger Warning quite passionately and the ones I didn't love, I liked. He's as amazing a writer as always and he made me weep for Ray Bradbury, long for the Dying Earth, want to listen to David Bowie and recall all the things I love about American Gods and caves in Black Mountains and witches and fairy tales.

Though not my favorite of Gaiman's short story collection, it's still a solid one.

Ha sido genial volver a leer sobre Sombra y tener un toque de American Gods con Bastet. La historia del Doctor ha sido maravillosa.
