This would have been a DNF right around the 3rd story, if it wasn't for the fact that it was a buddy read and I wasn't willing to let a friend suffer alone. But because this train wreck of an anthology wasted enough of my time as it is, I'll keep this short. If you are looking for a detailed review of every story, read this one.

So let's just answer a few questions and be on our merry way.

Should I read this book?
If you value your sanity, no. Seriously, just avoid this anthology. Except for 2 good stories and 2 passable ones, most stories were either barely "meh", kinda boring or downright atrociously bad.

But what if I want to read this book?
Look, if you are that desperate to read it, who am I to stop you? I still think there are better ways to spend your free time, like actually doing fun stuff or even watching paint dry, but you do you. Nonetheless, if you decide to do this dumpster dive, let me make your job easier by pointing out the two diamonds in the rough. Make sure you read these two before you chuck your kindle out of the window, since compared to the rest, these were exceptionally good:
The Book Club by Rita Potter
A Dark and Stormy Night by Lila Bruce

The other stories couldn't have been that bad, could they?
Look, I have no quarrel with the stories that were "meh" or boring in general, because that can be more of a personal preference. But there were some stories that read like fanfic written by a high school kid who, although, has heard of books existing, but never actually read one, cause who needs reading if you can write, amirite?

So why not give this book a 1 star rating then, if it's so bad?
Because I'd like to honor those few good stories. They deserve better even if the book itself doesn't.
