Another delightful volume, great breathing space to recover from the perils of Romonon. A wonderful time for worldbuilding! Introducing a major mage city and their workings! New characters! A disabled character using mobility aide! A beach episode that doesnt feel like fanservice and the girls are in age appropriate clothing! And hints of Agott backstory and hints of Qifrey backstory and really what more do I need?

'Witch Hat Atelier' continues to be one of my favorite manga. This volume introduces us to more of the magic world as well as giving a peek into Agott's past. The apprentices have to work together to solve a test and I appreciate how Shirahama has utilized varying obstacles to forge the friendship between the four. We are also introduced to the witch who taught Qifrey, which should begin to introduce more of his backstory as well. The art, world building, and characters continue to delight.

I am repeating myself, but this series is so much fun! I loved discovering Academia, even though it seems like a golden cage. It's also interesting getting to know more about different characters : Agott, the Knights, Beldaruit - whom I particularly enjoy reading about. We are uncovering layers of Qiefry's past. I am intrigued about his relationship with Beldaruit, especially because of the ending. I hope we learn more about Olruggio and Qiefry also ! The dynamic between Olruggio and the girls was a delight in this volume.
As usual, some questions or hypothesis I have :
- Why does everyone want to monitor Coco ? What does she have that is so special ? Is there something about her past that we don't know of ?
- Olugio, like Qiefry, seems to be at odds with the values of the Academy... What is his background story ?
- Qiefry is mainly taking "problematic" or rejected students... Which is interesting. Does that mean that he has good values ? Is he a good character or a masked villain ?
