I would give it 0 if they let me. First off I understand I don’t like YA books. Unfortunately I had no idea this was one. I have since found out how to check.
Second as far as the story itself. The character development was non existent so you got no feelings even for the kids. Third the killer was shown at the very beginning, not a fun mystery or thriller. Fourth MY GOD THE CONSTANT REPETITION WAS RIDICULOUS! Over and over the same thoughts the same fights.

I thought this was going to be a slasher but I was fortunately surprised it wasn’t. I never have read a cat & mouse thriller book like this but I will definitely check out more. I love how the authors writes, it makes me anxious and so involved but not so much that it makes me put the book down. The characters got me hooked immediately, I don’t know why but I got attached within the first two chapters. The ending was good but I didn’t really like the motive or how Clayton would sometimes be creepy but other times be sympathetic. In the end I did enjoy it a lot, very quick read and compelling but I just didn’t like the motive of it all.

DNF at 29%.
It was just too repetitive and too predictable. The characters also kind of blended together and it was hard to distinguish one from another. This book just wasn't enough to keep me hooked and want to know the ending.
