So, it goes without saying that I enjoyed this book but what really had me all the way stuck in was the vulnerable honesty of each out the characters. Bleu stood on business with how she wanted to live her life and the fact that she was prepared to lose people in her life in order to walk in her own purpose and be the woman she wanted to be was amazing.

Landon on the other hand had taken a hit to his heart, yes, but was he closed off and shut down behind it? No he was not. He was putting himself out there and open enough to want to learn how to give and receive love. It was so beautiful.

Adding Menace into the mix was just the perfect comedic relief that we can all use especially when a book touches on heavy topics. I think we have all loved Menace since he kidnapped Stevie in 10,000 Hours and it was so refreshing to see that he was actively in therapy and working to repair a relationship with his brother.

I also loved how Jahquel J. basically allowed Bleu's character to write her love letter to the city that shaped and molder her throughout her life. Just like her parents were there to raise her so was New York. I loved this book down bad, can you tell? Do yourself a favor and go in with an open mind, allow Landon and Navy to walk you through their love story with fresh eyes, I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

This has risen to the top for me as one of my favorite books by Jahquel J. Landon is someone who I just thought I knew but he’s such a pleasant surprise. I’m glad he didn’t resist love but embraced it.
