I couldn’t get past the point where she literally binds him against his consent and then tries to play the victim. Classic abuser card and it’s played off so sweetly like “oh poor baby was just scared.” Use your words, idiot and tell him you’re scared rather than binding him while he’s sleeping and triggering his ptsd.

I did indeed love our tiny oblivious unhinged and unaware baby Rae. She is so me just being so chaotic and clumsy. Though I do love that even though some people regarded her as helpless, she wasn’t in the end.

Here’s some quotes:

“Years of torture and solitude will have you learn that anger is the safest emotion. It’s the strongest. It’s a fire that will keep you going in the dark.”

“but I hoped that every time they saw me walk in, alive and well, it burned them up inside.”

“‘The beasts cut deep. I was trying to be careful...’ His voice lowered, almost imperceptible as he said, ‘Didn’t...didn’t want to hurt the cat.’” (Get you a man willing to die to save your cat)

Story was ok. Smut aspect of it was good and the story was better than expected. I can see how the second and third book would tie in and I like that but won’t be reading the them right now.
