I love Catherine Cohen and her whole vibe to bits but this was a bit hit and miss.

These poems read like they were written by a boomer making fun of millennials by impersonating them - except they were written by an actual millennial woman.

Is it satire or poetry? Is it satire of poetry? But that wouldn’t make sense… maybe it’s a social experiment.

I must admit that I chuckled - twice even… but as soon as I remembered that I paid 14,10€ for Tweets in a book, I just felt scammed. You shouldn’t price art (poetry) but you can remember that Twitter, TikTok and Instagram are free (they only cost your soul).

For the Germans: this collection of millennialism gives pure „zu vino sag ich nie no“-vibes.

2 stars for two chuckles:

“I love when someone is ‘surprise married’ that's when someone tells me they're married
and I'm like but you're my age
and they're like yeah
and I'm like that's surprising to me . . .”

and

“someone who called me a c^nt online
just liked my tweet about feminism”

This was so funny but also super reflective and actual poetry in the most modern definition. I lived, laughed and loved.

Maybe Catherine Cohen is the voice of a generation? Our at least she has voiced some of my own truths of feeling young and romantic and full of anxiety. Funny, smart, undeniably honest.

Super fast read. Laugh out loud at times, other times I found some genuine prose. I really enjoyed and will probably visit it again once or twice.
