This was an excellent sequel to The Crimson Moth (The Heartless Hunter in the US). THe ending was excellent and this was really well written.

really enjoyed this read. although it was extremely predictable, i still had a great time with rune and gideon’s relationship and dynamic. annoying at times with the self sacrificial bs when the ending was obvious, but the high stakes and banter made this really enjoyable.

not as strong as the first book, and beginning got quite redundant, making it difficult to keep going. overall, plot felt a lot weaker than in book one, where depth of certain narratives was lacking. felt like resolution was reached quickly, but at the same time glad it was a duology as having a trilogy would’ve been truly unnecessary.
