I really enjoyed this series: it was fun and adventurous. This second instalment was good, however at times it felt like the plot was weaker than the first, and I would have liked to go deeper on certain elements of the narrative: for example,

when Rune suddenly appears to have some Sight ?? But we never get more info and it's only conveniently placed to further the story

. I would also say that this second book felt more predictable than the first one.

That being said, it was a fun and easy read, and I enjoyed it!

Not as good as book 1. The first half was too much of Gideon and Runes internal dialogue about how they are misunderstanding eachother. That got redundant. It picked up halfway through and kept my interest. But I kept feeling like Rune was making dumb mistakes and it didn’t fit with her competent confident Crimson Moth persona.
