Simple at first glance but with so many underlying themes underneath (and of course, the art is awesome).

This book was an “I want to love it, but...” read for me. The title and the art work drew me in, to be sure. The story, however, fell flat. As I read, I just knew I would glean some incredibly wise life lesson. No, that was not the case. Oh, it could have been grand! For now, I’ll just read a few reviews to see what I’m missing.

This is a book for those who like to suspend disbelief.  In a dystopian-esque, steampunky town, a lost thing appears and the main character doesn't know what to do with it.  Tan's incredible artwork truly makes this wordless book worthwhile.  It's so beautiful and intricate in a way that's both futuristic and rustic.  It's thought-provoking, intriguing, and overall truly a book worth looking at.
