Audio review:
Wow.
Sometimes the audiobooks hit you harder than reading the words. This was one of those books.
Despite my apparent “beige” tendencies, I can appreciate how Mark and Katelyn connected.
Their story was passionate, desperate and absolutely stunning.
Jacob and Melissa did an amazing job with narration.

**I received a copy of Riding Hard from Net Galley and Montlake Romance in exchange for a voluntary review. This are my opinions and not solicited in any way.**

Riding Hard by Lauren Landish is the second book in her Bennett Boys Ranch series. This is Mark (who's the eldest) and Katelyn's story which I'd rate as a solid 4 stars. There is a bit of BDSM so just a small warning but not enough for a erotica rating. Again I loved Mama Lou the matriarch of the family and Katelyn's assistant extraordinaire Marcy who's awesome with advice.

Mark Bennett thinks that he'll never find a woman who'll love him after rejection from a former girlfriend. But he's never met Katelyn the new girl in town and events planner at the Mountain Spirit Hotel and resort. Oh did I mention she's the event planner for Sophie and James's upcoming wedding? Mark is used to being the rock and now that he's running the ranch life is steady but when he meets Katelyn could she be the one who'll change he mind? How will she react to his kinky needs?

Katelyn Johnson broke from the boyfriend in Idaho of a decade and her rather beige life. As the new events planner for the resort she's excited to help make every one be a success. When she meets Mark Bennett at the resort and who helps her convince a rather amorous cowboy at Hank's introduce her to a life beyond beige and vanilla. Will she be the next Bennett bride? Will Mark finally tell Katelyn about his hidden fears of being rejected again?

Mark Bennet keeps his feelings close to his chest and he has given up hope of ever finding the one woman who will see through all his walls to the man hiding deep inside. Katelyn Johnson is planning the wedding of Mark’s brother, a rodeo celebrity. She is tired of living her old boring life and wants to fill it with colour instead. Mark finds ways to see more of Katelyn, but tries very hard to keep her at arms length, because he doesn’t believe that he deserves love as much as the rest of us.

This is a story of discovery for both of them. Mark is finding out exactly how much he can show Katelyn and she is discovering just how far she is willing to go to get under his skin. This is also a story of sexual discovery between Mark and Katelyn.

I enjoyed the writing style and that the chapters were written from either Mark’s or Katelyn’s perspective. The author put a lot of effort into sharing these characters’ thoughts with us. We (the readers) know exactly what they are thinking and feeling, and it can get quite intense at times. Mark’s actions were very frustrating at times, and at some points I kept wondering why Katelyn is even trying anymore. How much is too much effort to convince someone that the relationship is worth it?

This was an interesting read with lots of focus on emotions.

I received an advanced copy of the book from Netgalley to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

He's so rough. He had to take on the brunt of the work when his father passed. He found the perfect woman and is afraid he doesn't deserve her. He's also kinky in the best way. They are my favorite of the series.

You usually have to wait for the quiet brooding brother in a character series, but Lauren Landish gave it to me in book two and man did I love Mark.

📔 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼: Riding Hard by Lauren Landish, book 2 in the Bennett Boys Ranch series.

📚𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Cowboy romance, small town romance, opposites attract.

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Mark has resigned himself to a life of solitude, caring for his family farm. When his brother decides to get married, Mark meets Katelyn, a wedding planner and the sunshine to his darkness.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I’ve gotten lucky finding this series, which is not only on KU but is also a free listen.

I loved Katelyn and Mark’s story. Both were solid characters, and Mark turning from a brooding cowboy to a complete simp was so much fun to read. It only made it better that the spice was spicing.

Definitely need headphones for this one, it’s raunchy.

𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
