"Don't create more of a scene, Miss Flowers. Just get in the fucking car of I'll make a scene of my own and trust me, it will put yours to shame."

I am officially in the cozy holiday vibes after reading this novella. Boss and Employee have a rocky/interesting working relationship that becomes.. so much more with a trip home during the Holidays.

"Thank you for being an amazing friend to me, even when I didn't deserve it. You are the most wonderful person, Kate, and I hope you NEVER doubt that."

I was pleasantly surprised in the amount of emotions that were evoked from a short novella. The female and male mc had me in disbelief, had me laughing, had me crying and best of all - had me swooning over their spice!

"Thank you for letting me love you."

I really enjoyed this one. It wasnt a new favorite...I personally didnt enjoy how pushy the guy was in the beginning...but later on I definitely enjoyed both of these characters. I'd read it again...had some really nice holiday vibes.

This book was kind of all over the place. The main characters were hard to relate to. They were one extreme of emotion to the next. I mean Damon is a complete and utter jerk and yet he loves her? I didn’t understand that part at all. Especially when he would say her attitude would turn him off. They way both of them handled each other was hostile, hateful and down right rude but they “loved” each other. Once Damon decided to man up and be nice though he completely changed and I had a hard time reconciling this. I mean he was 2 different men. Plus this didn’t really feel like a Christmas romance and I can’t really explain it. I mean it was during Christmas and they talked about Christmas but it felt more like an afterthought, forcing the book into that Christmas romance genre.
I will say the sex scenes were hot. It felt like that was all the book was though, hot sex with confusing characters.
So i figured out what bothered me. Because honestly I enjoy some of those alpha boss stories so I could t quite understand why this one bugged me so much. It’s their dynamic. He wasn’t just teasing her at work he was being hurtful and purposely trying to get her to hate him. And she wasn’t flirting back, she was going home at nights and crying about her work day. This is where it really differs from those other bossy boss stories.

I'll admit to not liking Damon, and not wanting to like Damon! But man, Alexis can write a mean bastard into a lovable man. It is a sweet story but also deals with some hard family insecurities that are so relatable. Loved all of it!
