I'm not a fan of bratty Lulu or barely any plot or depth, but Josh (at age 8) really liked this book and Lulu. I also think it's too easy for him. He requested more Lulu the day after he said he doesn't like chapter books, so more Lulu it is.

Everyone in the family loved this book! Unique format, fun story, and some good life lessons about being a good friend and being a good person. Lots of laugh out loud moments in this as well. We will be reading the first in this series and looking at her other books.

Dessert was cookie cake.

In the second Lulu book, Lulu gets a job walking dogs. Except she doesn’t know anything about dogs, so she needs a little help - but she doesn’t want to accept advice from her know-it-all neighbor.

Lulu is kind of rude but she has to learn the hard way that she needs others.

I didn't like this one as much as the first, but it's a cute book. Lulu is just a great character. My three girls (8, 6, and 3) loved it.

Not quite as funny as Lulu and th Brontosaurus, but still a good story with an honest ending that doesn't make me want to throw up. The message about being partners and teammates rather than bossing each other around is a good one. I'm going to make my kid, who thinks all his playmates are his minions, reads this.

Lulu is clearly a rude and abrasive girl and little ones will love reading about her bad behavior. She gets her comeuppance from Fleischman and the dogs.

Oh, Lulu! In the second book of her series, Lulu Walks the Dogs, Judith Viorst continues to reveal more about her protagonist, Lulu. Lulu isn't always nice..., or thoughtful..., or well-behaved. She's improved some since her encounter with Mr. B (the Brontosaurus) in her first story, but now Lulu has a particular problem she needs to solve, and she finds the problem is more problematic than she first expected. Lulu has something she really, really wants--but her parents, though they love her dearly, cannot buy this for her. She decides to raise the money for her mystery purchase by walking neighbors' dogs. This seems like a great idea, until she starts to realize that dogs don't always cooperate-- and when there are three of them, the chances of "noncooperative" behavior increase. To make matters worse, there's Fleischman, a neighborhood boy close to Lulu's age who is a dream-come-true to adults with his impeccable manners, cheery disposition, and willingness to help with anything, anytime. Fleischman could be Lulu's greatest nightmare, except for the fact that he is in a position to help her if she can be "big enough" to accept the help. This is a charming, funny story that young readers will love, and likely laugh out loud reading!

I think I liked even more than lulu and the brontosaurus. I hope there are more Lulu stories.

Lulu is back! After her adventures in Lulu and the Brontosaurus with Mr. B., she has vowed not to be as big of a pain but only a sometimes pain. In this adventure Lulu wants a super special thing. Her parents tell her no over and over no matter what strategies Lulu uses to convince them. The finally tell her she will have to pay for it herself. So what is Lulu going to do? Walk dogs of course. Does Lulu know anything about dogs? Not a thing but how hard can it be? Lulu gets three dog walking jobs: first there is Brutus, an enormous, bigheaded, bad-breathed brute. Next is Pookie (rhymes with duke not book!) a teeny-tiny white puffball who has to be held. Finally there is Cordelia, a dachshund who loves to hide. Lulu is in trouble from the very first day but luckily she has Fleischman to help her. Fleischman is the most perfect kid in the world and Lulu can't stand him, but she also can't work without him so he becomes her assistant. Together they make a great team, but Lulu is still a pain so of course there are problems.

I absolutely love Lulu. These books are hilarious; mainly because the author interjects throughout the story. I love the timeouts and the "I really don't feel like discussing that right now" interjections. Lane Smith's illustrations perfectly complement Judith Viorst's text. I think this is a wonderful collaboration and I can't wait to see what these two come up with next. This is a very short book and can be read pretty quickly so I urge everyone to fall in love with Lulu!
