An incredibly enjoyable short story! I always love a story with no actual character and yet it can keep the plot interesting. People tend to say character-focused stories are more engaging than plot-focused ones, but this shows how plot-based stories can hold their ground, if done correctly.

Bradbury has such a "soft" literary voice. The ideas conveyed in his stories are at turns scary, unsettling, weird, or just plain apocalyptic, and yet the tone never seems to change. Slow, mellow, perfection.

interesting commentary and perspective to tell it from. it is indeed very ironic that we humans work on expanding our technological advances yet those are the exact ones to kill us

it's written simply but a little dry, i do have to say. but it's short enough and it holds enough weight to sit with it for a little while.

One of the finest short stories out there. The concept is utterly new and it rings in your ears after you read it. It leaves something in you no other story does.

This short story was very real and made me think about how fast we are advancing in technology. It makes me fear for our well being as humans. no other author could portray this as well as Ray Bradbury has.

This story gave me chills from beginning to end. It's the story of a smart house that goes on days after a nuclear apocalypse. The shadows of the family that once inhabited it run along its back wall, but it continues to serve them as if nothing happened.

Overall, it felt empty and haunting with the house conducting its daily chores and following a routine that's been broken by outside factors.

Content warning for animal death.
SpoilerThere is a dog in this story as (one of) the last remaining living being(s). It ultimately dies from radiation and is incinerated by the house.
I'm not sure the inclusion was necessary, but for me, it didn't completely take away from the story.
