Back to the actual plot now, after the crossover madness that was Volume 10. This one left a lot of cliffhangers though! I'm very excited to keep going in this series, as always. I just love this series and these characters so much by now.

Man, this book is like the authors were trying to apologise for the previous one.
Story packed, action packed, and with beautiful artwork as well.
So, it starts of with Witches, a series only by title related to the powerful women of the 13th floor, but giving us some Game of Thrones level action in the politics of running an off-the-books-magical-in-the-middle-of-the-mundy-world farm. There is struggle to assume leadership of the farm as Rose Red still feels bad (I really do not like her character), Totenkinder assumes a young form, calls herself Bellflower now, and decided to find out anything she can about Mister Dark.
Then we get some more exposition about Rose Red and Snow White's backstory, some more information just how bad a sister Rose Red is, and finally....
The Duel. This is so amazingly drawn, and a fitting retirement for one of the most interesting characters in the series at all.

We also get a couple of Easter eggs for things to come, Happ just drops in conversation how great powers have their own boxes, like that guy you know, North Wind, he can use it to die, and some others, like Hope, have them as well. Not sure that entire page was necessary. When I read it first, it was a nice titbit to better describe the world, now after reading it a second time, that surprise or excitement for what could happen next seems to gone.

Well that was unexpected.

Better than the last volume, not my favorite volume, but still really good. There's an attempt to take down the current "big bad" (as in the main villain, not Bigby) - but I won't say what happens. Definitely worth a read.
