Still so good. The Body will forever be the best.

I don't like Stephen King's style of writing. I found it clunky and unenjoyable. Not for me.

Final review of the four stories:

- Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption: ⭐⭐⭐ - -: I thought it was OK but sadly found the movie a bit of a better medium to tell the tale, since the novella is told as a framed narrative by Red.
- Apt Pupil ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: absolutely amazing- I can't really put to words what this one did for me. This novella was *messed up* and I couldn't get enough of it. My favorite one of the collection.
- The Body ⭐⭐⭐⭐-: my second favorite. Didn't think this one would hit but I ended up really being endeared towards Gordie and his friends.
- The Breathing Method ⭐⭐ - - -: this one was also just ok. It was the shortest story and it wasn't bad by any means, but I felt intrigued by the club and we really don't walk away with much in this story other than the strange tale from Dr. McCarron.

Collection of Stephen kings shorts: Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, Apt Pupil, The Body, Stand By Me and the Breathing Method.

I only enjoyed the first short story: Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, it was well written, gripping and I felt connected to the characters.

The second short, Apt Pupil, was well written but the topic was not my cup of tea… and the animal cruelty was too graphic for me.

The body was just really boring and slow to me, felt nothing like the stand by me movie.

And I stopped reading the breathing method because I was fed up of the book.

I’d probably read the Shawshank again but not the others.

Really nice stories and all very different. Shawshank redemption was really beautiful and interesting, Apt Pupil was disturbing and insightful, The Body was very nostalgic and a sad depiction of growing up and The Breathing Method was tragic, mysterious and infuriating.
Overall I didn't have the best time reading this book but I'm glad I did and I feel like it's a book that gets better overtime after you digest the stories.
