This is one of those books that sat on my shelves for years. I always started it, then couldn't find my way in, and put it back on the shelf. Now I can say it found me at the right time. This book heavily features caregiving -- particularly caregiving for someone when the relationship is complex. I appreciated this book for the way that is unflinchingly, openly, and honestly examined.
Aesthetically, there were things I'd change about the book that kept me from reading it in the past, but the heart of the book was a narrative I needed and am grateful for.
