We're about to enter the no judgment zone. This book arrived via UPS before I left for therapy at 12:45, I started it when I got home around 2:15, and it was finished before 10:30 tonight. So was it good? Yeah. Was it as good as the first one? Ehhhhhhh....no.
I like how much Lara Jean's world expanded. Characters like Kitty, Stormy, and Dr. Covey shined brighter this time around. There was a better sense of friendship and community. Lara Jean and her family were still at the center, but they weren't their own weird island. At the same time, the main conflict of the book was a bit of a repeat from the first book, only amplified. Jealousy over Peter and Genevieve, one of Lara Jean's letters come back to bite her, yadda yadda yadda. Some have argued that the first book would have been fine as a stand-alone, and I kinda get it. I'm glad the story was expanded, and I'll read the final book in the trilogy this month. But at the same time, this book lacked the fresh excitement of the first.

i enjoyed this one a lot more than the first. the characters really became more likable to me. i wish i'd read these in like middle school or something. the depth was pretty surprising. i'm glad this one brought in so much that was left out in the adaptations
I love Lara Jean and Peter. I might like this second book more than the first. I like the addition of Stormy and John. The Assassin game sounds pretty great too. But mostly I just love Lara Jean and Peter.
This book is a big step up from the first, but just not hitting me the way i know it would have when i was in highschool.
Heads up to parents: these books have lots of conversations about sex. The main character is not sexually active, but is thinking about it.
This book is an interesting mash up of what should have been the end of the first book and then a it's own much shorter book. I did like how much Lauren needed to grow in this book. She needed to put away her insecurities, fix friendships, and grow in her relationship. This book reunites Laura and Peter, solidifying her feels for him and the emotions of her dealing with being in her first relationship. It's a bit much at times, but very real for that of a teenager.

This should be in the horror section as she had the perfect guy who wanted her, and she goes back to the arrogant, rude, selfish guy obsessed with his ex and never cared enough about lara. Anyway, very good and easy read and John was so much better than in the movies I can't believe they cut the good stuff.

I officially lost the nostalgia kick of the first book and am annoyed. I am probably too old for this series and that is okay, I want to get rid of them anyway.
Lara Jean and Peter were pretending to date but she didn't expect to fall for real. She is more confused than ever when another boy from her past and her feelings for him return to her life. Can a girl be in love with two boys at the same time?
I don't have the energy nor time for a sophisticated review, so I'm gonna keep it short and not sweet. I don't think Lara Jean and Peter really fit well together. Like not at all. Their relationship gives me nothing in this book and I really don't think they together are that great. Lara Jean and John (or Josh on that matter) would make so much more sense for me. I don't like Lara Jean, she is too quirky or whatever, just not my cup of tea. I feel like Jenny Han's female main characters are very annoying (TSITP trauma it is). Just no, I can't describe it for you. I am also slightly drunk and my brain has no words more words to give. Thanks for reading this shitty review (I couldn't care less right now and will sleep).

Who knows.

A fun, lighthearted read.
I don't read contemporary much, or like, ever really. But I am so glad that I decided to read this duology and get to know Lara Jean.
So much cuteness. I can't handle these books.
I can't handle Lara Jean and her beautiful teenage soul.
I can't handle all the sisterly love.
I can't handle the fun, and the games, and the high school scandal.
But mostly I can't handle John Ambrose McClaren.
Peter's cool too, but John > Peter. Duuuuuh.
I super wish there was going to be a third book.
I want to see her and Gen make up, work out their differences, heal and grow together.
I want to see her dad find love, and I want to see the girls get a step mom, (the good fairy kind, not evil).
I need answers!
