"Have patience with everything unresolved and try to love the questions themselves."

It was a beautiful read.

Reading this fresh out of grad school really helped me understand the therapeutic relationship I’m a new light and I know this will be a book a return to time and again throughout the course of my career

I’m going through a lot of turbulence in my life at the moment, so my longtime fascination with psychology of all kinds has begun to focus on therapy, and what goes on behind the scenes, in the “engine room,” so to speak. This book was a fascinating, very accessible peek into the workings of therapists, the schools of thought that inform their work and so on. This book is also a passionate plea to keep therapy open open ended and fluid, and not to use cookie cutter techniques of short term therapy which are more about the current economic climate than they are about what actually helps people. I loved this book. I learned a lot and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in psychology, and the various ways of doing therapy. An insightful read, for sure.
