While it's interesting to listen to Irv Yalom via YouTube video, this audiobook was very dry and at times I felt myself drift off. It's great to hear a veteran therapist provide wisdom to the newbies but either stick to the paper copy or find video on YouTube rather than read via audio.

It's targeted at therapists. I'm not a therapist, I just go to therapy sometimes. I think the biggest benefit for me was hearing lots of examples of what people talk about in therapy. It's also interesting hearing how therapists think about therapy. Understanding the therapist's goals and tactics helps me see why my therapist asks me certain questions, and how I can help them help me. I don't buy some of the content, especially about dream interpretation. The style of the book is very easy to read. It's broken into bite-sized pieces of concrete advice, which I like.
