DNFd at seventy pages. I don’t know if this book just caught me on a bad day, but I just could not get invested in the world, the plot, or the characters. I might come back to this another day, but for know it’s going back on my bookshelf.

Great world building with a good sense of humor. I loved the satire written within the handbook. The final battle felt very rewarding. Unfortunately, I found the characters to be not as interesting and lovable as they could have been and the plot predictable.

This was a really interesting story about relationships with your friends and yourself. If you read Tress of the Emerald Sea, the two main characters are weirdly similar but this was a really interesting story. Having the main character have to remember his own past is always a good way to do some development. I got kinda lost with the terms but don't let that stop you from enjoying this.

I love this Author. This story just wasn't  for me. The plot felt thin, the plot armor was thick though. Could have been a fun story about a magical land but it clashed too harshly with the mobster vs cop story.
