I thought the book was slow going because the only thing pushing it through was the romance. Maxon started to grow on me after a while.

The book was well written through the girl, America Singer's eyes. She kinda does a little double timing that really can't be considered as that in the book, but it popped up to me as that.

Other than those things, I was perfectly happy with "The Selection".

Hat mir echt gut gefallen, ich denke wenn ich das in meiner Jugend gelesen hätte, hätte ich wahrscheinlich auch achon früher angefangen eine leseratte zu sein :) Ich kann verstehen, wie dieses Buch viele Leute zum lesen bewegt hat, der Schreibstil ist simpel und angenehm zu lesen, die story bleibt spannend und die Charaktere sind charmant und für diese Welt Realistisch gehalten. Der Verlauf der Story ist zwar ziemlich klar im Vorhinein, sie ist anders und will ihn garnicht obwohl sie beim Wettkampf um ihn mitmacht, aber er will sie natürlich weil er sie nicht haben kann. Dann verlieben sich beide usw. ...
