Ok so I read Haunting/ Hunting Adeline and Where’s Molly before I went back to this one and I really enjoyed getting to know Sibby’s background. I also enjoyed the scenes in the book that were in the next two that crossed over better in those so I’m glad I read this one last for that purpose. However it does give specific detail to understanding why Sibby acts as she does
I didn't pay attention before reading the Cat & Mouse duet, and read Satan's Affair after finishing the rest of the series. When we met Sibby in the funhouse during Haunting Adeline, I was so intrigued by her character and needed to know more, so I was so happy to realize she had her own book.
Sibby's backstory was heartbreaking, and I liked how Carlton switched back and forth between present and past tense during some of the most pivotal points of this novella. The henchmen were so convincing and I LOVED the epilogue. Sibby's inner dialogue during the epilogue gave the reader a much better insight to how she thinks and acts.
Definitely recommend reading this before the Cat & Mouse since there is character/scene crossover, but even if read as a stand-alone this book was fantastic!

The way I had to double back with this... read your trigger warnings because no holds barred. If you're looking for horror, for psycho, for unhinged moments this was a one stop shop. This was actually a really nice companion to have read within the context of Haunting Adeline, and H.D. Carlton grapples with some hard conversations about how we draw lines around morality.

Sooo this has to be one of many books where I’ve wanted to hug the main character and just tell her she’s amazing and loved ❤️. This is about Sibel (Sibby ) aka demon slayer ! She’s had a hard time in life mainly her past . She grew up in a cult .. she escaped after some time and started working on the traveling carnival Satans Affair .. it’s mentioned in Haunting Adeline .. she has her own unique personality and style that some may find odd but i love it ! She has henchman only she can see .. her humor is very funny and dark ! She kills demons (bad men ) she can smell the horrid scent they give off .. people call her crazy but i don’t think she’s crazy she’s just special .. zade takes her under his wing … she’s mentioned in both haunting and hunting Adeline .. According to H.D Carlton she’s in the works of writing more about Sibby which i love definitely read the trigger warnings and i would recommend this one ❤️
What in the WOW!? Psychologically twisted and not for the faint of heart. It was recommended to read this before the Haunting and Hunting books, but it's not necessary. Gave me scary dreams, but I regret nothing.
