I don’t know what to say. I’ve read dark before, or I thought I had, but this was frighteningly DARK. The spice level was off the charts, bordering on pornography. I never in a million years thought I’d empathize with a murderer, but found myself cheering for Sibby. The epilogue was painful and it felt wrong to write it all off as psychosis. I think that’s my only complaint….no, the author left it open what happened to/who is Zade. I hope the Adeline duet maybe answers those questions.
The book was well written, engaging, high spice but it only enhanced from the story and did not take me out of it. A good read and I will recommend.

I started this book because I heard it was the prequel to Haunting Adeline. I thought it was 90% smut and 10% plot. I’m all for the smut but there was just not much to go on as far as storyline. I would have enjoyed this so much more if there was a little bit more plot. I feel like it was smut until the last couple of chapters and then the “plot” was squished and rushed into the last couple of chapters. I am starting HA now. I’m super excited to see the connection between the two books.
Not for me. Writing style, characters, and otherwise felt very underdeveloped and painfully dramatic. Hate to say it, but it felt like the author was trying waaaayyyy too hard to be edgy.
the beginning was a little slow for me, despite violent/fast-paced events, but the ending really pulled through on this one! i'm excited for sibby's own books.
