Ehhh not my favorite that I’ve read, a lot of crying and memories of the dead husband.. idk it got to be a little much…

I am debating on giving book two a go since Anders and Omar are this enemies to lovers situation… haha

Couldn’t put it down!

I started this as soon as I saw it show up on my Kindle (yay preorders). I had other things I was supposed to do today, but I could barely put it down! I’ll admit it made me tear up a time or two, but it made me laugh or smile so much more. And there was some exciting action, too! I can’t wait for the next one.

While this *could* be enjoyed as a stand-alone, I think it would be best read following the three books in the Wrecked series, especially the final one featuring Roly, since it plays a lot into the background of a character in this.

5 out of 10.

I had fun reading this. Although I gotta admit, I had to forgive TONS of minor issues and sweep them off under the rug. This is the kind of book where it's necessary to not think too much about the little details to avoid spoiling the pace.

This author needs to learn that people can't demand forgiveness. Rafi has incredibly valid reasons to not forgive Roly and they don't make him a bad person. Forgiveness doesn't make you weak, or a saint. It's good if you're caught up in hate but you don't need to forgive someone who has legitimately caused someone you love pain. I liked all of the secondary characters until they put the emotional burden of Roly taking responsibility for being a bully who emotionally abused people in the past on the person mourning one of the people he hurt.

This book is so toxic in its ridiculously demanding and abusive take on forgiveness that i felt sick reading it. According to this author, if you don't forgive and befriend your bully when they become a better person, you're a bad person.

This was so cringy that I ended up skimming a lot of it. I found it super weird how Everett  kept calling Rafi "baby boy" and thinking about how tiny he is. And how Rafi spent the majority of the book sobbing.

Also, "Fuck, daddy, I missed this thing in my ass. It has a homing beacon right to my tickle spot" is probably the most cringy sentence I have ever read.

I've heard good reviews about the author, so I may try the next book to see if the series gets any better.
