Much thanks to @PRHAudio for an complimentary audio copy of this fantastic queer YA fantasy anthology!! I'm not usually one for short stories or anthologies but this one had a GORGEOUS cover that I couldn't resist being drawn to. There is also a great group of authors and narrators. Some favorites included the stories by Casey McQuiston, Kat Cho and Chloe Gong. The story that captured me most was Bride-heart by Marie Rutkoski (a new to me author). This was an incredible Bluebeard retelling I was really sad to see end! The variety and diversity in this collection was wonderful to see, from vampires to witches to mermaids and a host of other fantastical creatures, not to mention a host of queer characters (gay, trans, demisexual, etc) and characters of color too. 10/10 would recommend this, especially on audio!

I don't think i ever read an anthology, mostly because i don't think i can get invested in so few pages but consider me corrected thanks to the two most notable shorts : Bride-heart and La Bruja y la Sirena. I loved both the writing style and the imaginative way it unfurled <3 special mention to Bloody, Lovely for the same reasons but it just didn't hit as hard as the other two.

Rating goes :
undead ghoul meet cute ----- 3 (fun and funny)
a thousand more ----- 2 (left me wanting)
who will save me ----- 2 (bland)
in the eyes of angels ------ dnf (teens with immortals? no thanks)
my demon prince charming ----- dnf (again pass on the whole 18 yo with centuries old creatures)
Katrine and Rowan's exit interview ----- 3 (entertaining)
bride-heart ----- 4 (creepy and interesting page turner)
if you give an asura a cookie ----- 3
kiss the boy ----- 3 (cute but a little insta-lovey)
piano sonata n°13 ----- 3 (villains deserve love)
once upon a time in charleston ----- 1 (honestly what was the point?)
pierce my soul ----- 2 (beh bland and rushed and twilight-y)
banes and blessings ----- dnf
bloody, lovely ----- 3.5
la bruja y la sirena ----- 4 (now that was some immersive writing)

Eternally Yours is a lovely collection of short stories about “supernatural” romances.
I really liked the spin certain stories take on common tropes, and I was always curious to know how each story was going to evolve and to discover the mystery behind the supernatural creatures or the couples' backstories. There was also a nice balance between queer stories and heterosexual ones, with a lot of diversity in themes and characters, and that is something I always appreciate finding in books.

It was a book that was easy to fly through in the span of a few hours, but I wasn’t really satisfied by the anthology as a whole: it just wasn’t enough memorable to make me want to reread it, even though are a few stories I would have absolutely adored if they were longer books or novellas (like Chloe Gong’s one, or Kiss The Boy- I desperately need a sequel to that one).

I would still recommend Eternally Yours, because I feel Iike maybe anthologies are just not my thing so that could have probably influenced my opinion, and there are still some very interesting topics explored throughout the different stories.
