I rarely find the sequels to books better than the original, but this one I definitely do. As I said with my divergent review, I watched the movies first and enjoyed them. However, the movies didn't even touch on the psychological aspect that is the main point in this book. Ya you get to look at the other factions and the story is good, but what really makes it great is the way Tris' mental health is discussed. This is the dark, realistic stuff that makes books so good and relatable. Love the exploration of, not only a complex society, but complex characters.

Good book! A lot more detail than the movie and had a good plot line which carried on from the first book.

My first 5 stars of the year, but I just had to! I Looooved this!!!! I just love love love tris and four so much I feel like a teenager again. It was nice that it was so different from the film as well because sometimes reading a book that’s like a play by play of a film can be boring. I did get a little bit confused with all of the characters at one point, I feel like there was nothing individual about some of them so I didn’t really feel a need to care when they died. But I loved this!! And I can’t wait for the next one.

I rated this book higher than Divergent because even though it was slower and had less action, I loved all the science elements and how it talks more about Erudite instead of mostly taking place in the Dauntless compound.

I forgot how annoying both Tris and Tobias are. Guess they’re really meant for each other! Also, this book in seriously messed up—and not even an interesting, morally ambiguous way, like in a pretty much everyone has murdered or been complicit in the murders of innocent people way. Why were we all reading this in middle school!!!!!!
