I really enjoyed this series. Strong female character that isn't looking to be the heroine of any story line.

i'm really starting to dislike the main character, Lily, in this series. she is almost never happy or having fun. everything is serious. she doesn't like anyone yet she won't move. blah.

and then i didn't like how she was so judgmental of Deedra and the men she had been with. for someone who hates when people judge her about being a victim of a highly publicized crime years ago, she sure knows how to dish it out.

I have to say that while I enjoyed the ending of this book. Didn't see it coming at all! I hated how Lily and the other people living in town speak about the murder victim. A a victim of a horrible crime herself, I was hoping that Lily would not go down the path of blaming the victim for what happened to her because of her past actions and decisions.

Yet another great book in the series. I kind of figured out who done it but couldn't figured out the reasoning behind it besides money. Leave it to Charlaine to give it a twist. :)

I didn't realize when I picked this up and read it that it was the 4th book in a series. That might be part of why I didn't care for it. (Feeling a little lost will do that to you.)

I really feel no compulsion to read this series after reading this one. I will stick with the Sookie books thank you very much.

Shakespeare's Trollop is the fourth book in the Lily Bard Mystery series. I thought the first book was okay, the second and third I really liked, but this one was a little disappointing. I pretty much knew who did it right from the start and even though I didn't put everything together for why, I got the gist of it.

Lily is out one day and finds a car in the woods with Deedra dead in it. Deedra sleeps around and Lily is quite critical of her for that. There was a lot of talk of how she was just asking for it by sleeping with so many men. I really didn't like that. It was just....it bothered me.

The other issue with this book? Not enough Jack! When he is in it it is awesome, but he is gone on a case for most of the book. I do love Lily and Jack. They are so cute together and I am glad they are going to keep being together. I would have been so sad had they broken up. They both have their pasts, and they are just so cute! I love them.

As for the rest of the story it was just okay. As I said I knew who did it pretty much right away, though I didn't quite figure out why exactly they killed Deedra. It was an alright story, but just not as good as the last two.
