I do love most of Lapena's work but this was probably my least favorite. This is by no means a bad story but I was able to guess the killer/s pretty easily and the reason behind it was pretty absurd. I didn't mind the characters, there were lots of different archetypes though there isn't a lot of development (granted there usually isn't). This is a solid locked room mystery but her other stories are more satisfying to me.
By far one of my favorites from Shari. Liked a lot the way she involves few characters, not just 2 or 3. Enjoyed reading it and all the situations were surprising!
This had ‘And Then There Were None’ vibes. Several people go to a secluded Inn during a winter storm. When an ice storm hits, they lose power and people start ending up dead.
There are some good twists and turns. But, there were also some repetitive ‘a look of pure fear on their face’ moments. Everybody took turns at having a look of fear on their faces.
It is a quick entertaining read. 3.5 stars rounded up here for atmosphere, which was very well done.

Dark, twisted, and Agatha Christie's "who-done-it?" writing style is what makes this book hard to put down. I've finished it in one evening.

An ok mystery thriller but not unlike lots of others books I’ve read before, trapped in a hotel by a snow storm with guests dropping like flies. One by one by Ruth Ware was probably a better version. I did struggle to keep up with all the characters or really care about most of the by the end. I enjoyed the lasttwist at the very end though.
