I wasn't a fan of the endless flashbacks, but I'm not sure how it could have been done differently. It wouldn't have had the same impact if it was all told together as one flashback story. It did take me out of the story though since there was a flashback on nearly ever other page which kept cutting into the main story. Still curious to see how it all ends, even though I'm not liking how obsessive Jie is getting about the whole thing.
