Listened to this, and it was a tiny bit cheesy. But I love the thought work and I agree with most of what was said. I think I agree with mostly everything and I appreciated the examples on how to change your thoughts to get the most out of life. Maybe not for everyone. But it was a good listen.

I just started reading this a few weeks ago, after my medium-therapist-isch told me he thought I should read it, that it would give me some helpful advice in my current situation. About 40 or so pages in, I only have one word that pops into my head... BS!

I'm sorry not sorry, this was nothing for me. If anyone has been helped by this, know that I am so happy for you! BUT, to me, what I've read is just pages and chapters repeating the same things over and over and over AND OVER AGAIN! Though I do think you can apply some of these things to situations in your life, but you can't say that it is all true and accurate in every single situation!

Something that really disturbed me is this: "Life is not happening to you - it is responding TO YOU!" Ehm... no?! Let me tell you this, there is no child in the entire world that asked for or sent out energies that made them lose their parents, be assaulted or molested or traumatized. There is no human being on this planet that has sent out vibrations that made life respond to them with traumatic events of any kind! And with that logic, everyone should be positive and nothing bad could happen. Because, if life is always responding TO YOU and your energies and feelings, when would it all start? I can't think of a reason why anyone should be negative or send out negative vibrations if everything is fine from the beginning. Why would life have a reason to respond in a negative way when you're all fine? I don't believe that negative feelings just come without a reason, something has to happen! Something has to occurr for negative feelings to begin, if you ask me, in the majority of the cases. This just doesn't sit right with me, sadly.

I love the idea of being happy, grateful and positive and spreading love and positivity. But the fact that the author is saying that if you’re ill and you imagine that you’re perfectly fine, you will be cured? :/ Positive People who want to live and believe that they will overcome the illness that they have, sometimes die because being positive and giving love to yourself doesn’t necessarily guarantee you’re invincible or immortal.

I get the fact that the author wants everyone to stay positive and love their life but the way she explains that you’re not supposed to feel angry or negative or upset like EVER is a little cliche and far fetched. We are humans after all. We can’t always be happy and cheery and positive and we are allowed to be sad and cry it out when need be.

The author is Saying that if you love someone and choose to only see the positive aspects of their personality, that’s what you will get in return but what if you’re doing that and still your partner cheats on you and/or leaves you? Just because you are good and happy doesn’t mean that everyone you meet will return that happiness or goodwill.

The law of attraction finds continuance in "The Power" with the one thing which is all powerful. This is a book you will feel good reading, providing a positive boost to your day. It is interspersed with good quotes from various thinker and traditions. All of us need this mental stimulus to go on and this book provides that. However, the book repeats the concept too many times without newer or different examples...After you have read the first 25 pages there is very little new beyond that. A nice little book nevertheless.....

I gleaned every kernel of goodness that I could from this but there were a lot of holes. For one thing, the author makes hundreds of claims without backing them up in any way. She gives grandiose examples of how people have applied the power to great success but the over-simplification of the scenarios make me feel like she's trying to pull the wool over my eyes and I don't appreciate that from a non-fiction author. This is pseudoscience. Take the kernels and leave the rest.

This book is really not as good as the Secret. Maybe when I was reading the secret I was a little more impressionable and open to the world, but reading the power just made me annoyed.
