Another great volume and section of this first class mage trial arc. The group is stuck after coming up against the shadow clone of Frieren. Frieren and Fern will have to devise a plan, taking advantage of Frieren's weaknesses to take down the clone and end the second part of the trial. This arc continues to be a great way to get to know the other candidates as well as further develop the lead characters. Learning more about Serie has also been fascinating as her friendship with Frieren is one of the oldest (if the not the oldest) between Frieren and another character. This volume also sees the start of the third trial, which is very different from the other two but appears to showcase more character work.
