📖 REVIEW 📖

➕️The Christmas vibes and setting,exactly what I expect in a holiday rom-com
➕️ Premise sounded great, it had so much promise!
➕️ Myriad of characters

➖️ Felt like so much of the central relationship happened Ed off the page and we only got the spicy bits
➖️ Title and cover, oh so misleading
➖️ Highly repetitive and obvious, not relying on the reader to connect anything and laying it all bare
➖️ Shocking for the sake of being shocking

⭐ Star rating 2/5

🚨 Mental illness (Bipolar)

🛍 Purchased my copy late 2022 from @avidreader

This book was really cute. It was less spicy than I expected it to be but the pacing was great and the spice was HOT. It was also very humorous which I love in a book. If it can have me smirking or giggling as well as falling for the characters, it’s a win.

The overall vibes of this book was too confusing. It was trying really hard to be cozy/Hallmark-y but at the same time it wasn’t. The female heroine wasn’t very likable. It seems like the authors tried very hard to make the hero likable(especially with his family backstory), but I found him also unpleasant.
As a reader, I’ve come to realize that I don’t care for behind-the-scenes books. This could be books set in reality shows, cooking competitions, and now books about movies being made. It seems like storylines with these plot points are boring/ frustrating to me.

This is a cute read. I love how it does sprinkle in some social commentary, but of course the romance and charecter arcs are where it's at.

I had seen this book everywhere last holiday season so I knew I wanted to get my hands on it this year & I'm so glad I did!

Smutty Hallmark movies are definitely my vibe and this book was full of sweet and spicy scenes - which is what every romance lover enjoys. It had so many tropes going on at once but it didn't feel overdone. I loved Bee and her character in all her plus-sized glory. Nolan was also giving Harry Styles the entire way. Having books like this talking about sex workers is a great way to give people a better understanding of sex work & hopefully more empathy. Nothing felt forced in this book or like it was trying too hard to be progressive like some TV movies do. Everything felt very authentic and natural and that made for an enjoyable read.

Surprisingly didn't feel like much of it was rushed and honestly I just wanted more scenes of Bee and Nolan together but it wrapped up well. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series next holiday season!
