Aside from the crass art (imo) it was a good story.

Been binging the artist YouTube shorts
Grabbed the book at the library today.

4.5 - Really loving Scholastic's Graphix keeps going in the direction of intense, upper-teen memoirs. This is about Lewis' journey through middle/high school and discovering/accepting his transness. American teens will learn some good British slang/accent work through context. I particularly liked that Hancox inserted his adult-self to come back to the panels and contextualize what was happening with his teen self and what WILL happen and how it will get better for him. He did the same with his parents, who were really lovingly portrayed and rather endearingly supportive. It'll be so important for readers to see what that kind of support can look like. A must-have for HS and public libraries.

The art style is cute and lively. I really enjoyed the way that Hancox used author insert, it helped to make some of the more intense parts of his journey as a teen less stressful to know that he made it through okay. Honest, insightful, informative, and honestly kinda fun.
