A nelituji. Skvělé zpracování, plné odkazů na svět pohádek, promyšlený příběh i detailně vykreslený, lehce snový, svět. Příběh plný akce, zvratů a hlavně... přátelství. Souboj dobra a zla se asi nikdy neomrzí a je příjemné, občas zase trochu věřit iluzím.

Další díly si rozhodně nenechám ujít.

Reading this with my tween and this has many delightful twists on fairy tale conceptions and stereotypes. So many important messages to discuss with my daughter about friendship, courage, authenticity, and overcoming popular opinions and peer pressure. That ending was one I did not see coming.

perhaps that was the norm in 2013 but reading this in 2025, I found this series to be too heteronormative and misogynistic.
I failed to understand how Agatha fell in love with Tedros, a man who blamed all his problems on women and literally spoke lines like "I am the man here, not you."
I opened the book, expecting the Good girls to realize that their happiness can be archived by loving themselves, not by impressing men, that appearance has nothing to do with good or bad, that misogyny will be punished.
But in the end, the story just asserted these values.
When the story ended with Sophie and Agatha finding love in each other, I rejoiced, expecting them to deal with the toxicity in their relationship and walked the path of redemption (for Sophie) in the next novel, only to find that Agatha decided that she needed a prince.

My first read through was a few years ago, and I didnt enjoy it. However, after reading the prequels, it gave me a bit of back story that had me intrigued. Re reading this one after it made me love this one more! I love Agatha and Sophie. Both for very different reasons. The book truly showed the difference between good and evil. And not eberyone is one or the other. Theres a bit of evil and good and all. Its all in the choices made. Sophie over and over decided to lie and be selfish. Agatha selflessly fought for her friend and the school, even if they didnt deserve it. In the end, friendship won out. Yet, ended on such a cliffhanger. Where did Sophie go? And whats going to happen with the school? I need the be finished with this series for all the answers.
