The story revolves around two childhood friends, Afton and Sydney, after Afton was convicted of killing Sydney's father. The final twist is solid (though not shocking) and since the book is rather short and well-paced it's devorable in one or two sittings.
Format: Audiobook, at 2 x speed. The narrator does a great job here.

After Dark by Minka Kent is a book of thrills and suspense. It works hard to keep the reader intrigued, and it does, however, it is not the best book I have read. The premise is interesting and it is definitely worth the read, but don't go in expecting a 5-star read.
The twists are fun but a little predictable. The writing is solid and it was a good book for what it is, though nothing stood out as 'amazing' for me. Overall, I would recommend this if you are just in need of a quick read that doesn't require too much focus to follow.

Gawd! This story, this thriller, is just epic! I absolutely love Minka Kent, and this newest story is full of lies, deceit, mystery, and moments where you are going to yell, "Holy Crow!".

Sydney will do absolutely anything for her family and her friends. She works exceptionally hard to make a happy home for herself, her husband, and her kids.
Readers are going to be blown away by the intrigue and the lengths that some humans will go to. I was turning the pages until the very end, and what an ending it is!
The flow of this story, with flashbacks throughout, is gripping, edgy and will keep you dialed into the world that Ms. Kent created!
