This book was a fairly quick read, packed full of every day wisdom so easy to forget in the hustle of every day life. It was heartwarming and even made me cry a little as it looked at the dynamics of a family suffering loss. It was cleverly told with just the right amount of humor and mystery to keep it from being sad and reminds us it's never too late for healing or forgiveness.

a very sentimental book, but i love reading it when i am in a sentimental mood. it is fun because there are riddles and puzzles in it for you to figure out along with the characters. another thing i like about it is that it's a completely clean book---no language issues or inappropriate scenes to skip! it is a little sad because it does deal with the 4D's: depression, death, despair, and divorce. But it's a happy book overall.

This is no Rent Collector, but I loved the letters written by Grandpa Harry. The beauty of those letters almost made up for the rest of the book and the choppy dialogue and the two-dimensional characters. Harry is the only one who really seemed alive. Perhaps because he was based on Wright's own Grandfather. Three and a half stars.

A gentle and uplifting book about a dying grandfather who is trying to impart his life's wisdom to his children and grandchildren.
