The worst thing about Moby Dick is that it ends. It should be a never-ending book.

There are much better places to go for whale facts.

Yikes Ahab.... Yikes. Dude totally lost his mind

For years, I've heard people mutter that most of the book is about whales and whaling, with only a small portion devoted to plot, and now having read it, I feel like people who think that's some kind of drawback are completely missing the point.

The whale wins.

Why are his funny turn of phrases and exciting action bits so bogged down with endless recitations of whale facts. If I wanted to read a dry, scientific analysis of sperm whales I would be looking in the nonfiction section. I want to know whether he kills the whale or not!

I remember the experience of reading this with my junior English class and teacher as much more enjoyable than the actual story.

I do not have the review skills to even begin to write a review of this book. It gets 4 stars because I really like that I read it. It's almost wrong for a tall ship sailor to not read it. And as such, I really ought to be raving about it.... Hey, I know: Go to reviews of this book and the top one... or the one where the person had a few drinks to write.. read that one. You'll get a much better insight into the book through that review than anything I could write.
