Definitely Not Just Gal Pals!

While Blake is an accomplished doctor, whenever she’s around Jenny she falls apart. It’s been like this since they were 14. Now in their 30’s, with Jenny coming home to try to ride out a storm of bad publicity as a social media influencer, Blake still finds herself becoming awkward around Jenny.

And Jenny? She never had the first clue that Blake had feelings for her. She always assumed that awkwardness was because Blake didn’t like her. Little does she know!

But fate has other plans and their best friend, Amanda and her wedding force Jenny and Blake to spend more and more time together.

And once they’re together, the truth starts to emerge. But what will happen when Jenny gets the biggest social media influencer contract offer of her life?

Will her career win out?

I greatly enjoyed this book and I recommend it.

How are both of these characters so very boring

Jenny and Blake are so cute, the tension was amazing for the most part. I didn't care for the lack of communication between them at the beginning, but otherwise I really liked these ladies together.

The world of Sapphire Springs seemed like a perfect little small town with interesting places and people.

But undeniably, my favorite part was Walter, Jenny's adorable pet dog.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Jenny is so annoying.. and I’m sorry to say it but so is her dog

It took me 14 days to get through a 7-hour audiobook narrated by Abby Craden. Granted, maybe I would have liked it more if I’d read it? I’m not a huge Craden fan, so it’s hard to say if listening to it made it worse or not. Overall, this was painfully dull. I was so bored. I probably should have DNF’d it honestly.

Format: Digital
Genre: Sapphic Romance

Jenny is an influencer who has been 'canceled' due to a sponsor acting badly. She takes a break and heads home to Sapphire Springs for a friend's wedding. While there, she interacts with a former classmate, Blake, who she thought did not like her. The more time they spend together, the more their chemistry becomes apparent. When they finally admit their feelings for each other, everything changes.

I've been in such a reading slump that a sweet sapphic rom-com was exactly what I needed. The story takes place in autumn, and the setting mentions the changing of the leaves and going into corn mazes, so it is perfect for the current weather I am in. The spice was decent, and the characters had tough conversations that most romance doesn't. It was nice to see the characters talk about their issues and realize that they could help each other heal. There are currently two books in this series, and I can not wait to read more about Jenny, Blake, and their friends in Sapphic Springs.
