goddamn i LOVE sapphic gays. ❤️
this book was so good!! wow!! i loved it so much!! i did a buddy read with a friend and slacked big time but it was fun to be reacting to the same things!!

this was soooooo grumpy/sunshine, ugh. so fabulous. also like, dislike/rivals/enemies (or whatever) to lovers??? delicious. we as readers knew that Blake's indifference (or so Jenny thought) was because she liked Jenny so much and was so nervous around her and i just wanted to yell JUST KISS. KISS. KISSSSSSS. and i got my wish sooner rather than later!!

the farm date??? precious. that KISS? YES MA'AM. the HIKE?! need me a freak like that LOL
AND I'M SO OBSESSED WHEN THEY'RE LIKE YEAH SURE WE'LL KEEP THIS CASUAL AND EMOTIONLESS AND JUST HAVE SEX IT'S FINE OH WHOOPS WE'VE BASICALLY UHAULED. IT'S THE BEST EVER.
and such a teeny third act breakup! you had to squint to see it!!
was so proud of Jenny for following her heart. these two are perfect. no notes.

It was alright. The writing was solid (great compared to most Kindle Unlimited romance novels), but the entirety of the novel wasn’t particularly impressive. I didn’t really care too much about Blake & Jenny, nor did I care at ALL about the supporting characters.

I generally hate when the main problem or conflict in a story is miscommunication, or lack of communication altogether. This entire dislike between the love interests is entirely just them assuming the other one doesn’t like them. It got bland EXTREMELY fast and at some points, it was just unbelievable. Like you’re 32… if someone texts “Okay 👍🏻” you don’t have to assume they hate your guts… lol.

Overall, it was a decent read, nothing to write home about, but okay. Brownie points for not focusing so exclusively on Jenny’s past relationships with men, which I find is so common in sapphic literature. The relationship feels authentic and queer in a way I find a lot of sapphic novels lack in, so I appreciate that much, at least.

Who doesn’t love a Hallmark sapphic plot? Also doesn’t help that I’m usually a sap for small town lesbian romance. Good book, but not mind blowing. Predictable, but still very enjoyable read. It’s the kind of book where you just wanna read and giggle because you know what’s going to happen next, but you just find it cute when it does happen.
