Huge thank you to Elizabeth Luly for sending me a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
Elizabeth Luly’s done it again! I loved this just as much as her first book!
This is a sapphic small town romance with a bit of an enemies-to-lovers vibe with that beautiful “one of them actually secretly always had a crush” touch that I ADORE. Like seriously, idk why someone accidentally behaving like an ass to their crush because they’re awkward and nervous to the point where their crush thinks they hate them works so well for me, but I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
I loved that this book pairs Jenny, a social media influencer, with Blake, a doctor, and the only real time Blake’s job is treated as more worthwhile is when Jenny’s nervous and doubting herself. I love that Jenny’s viewed as successful and that her job is viewed as important, especially by Blake, and I also loved the discussions around academics not being everything and not always having to have a career planned out to make it in life.
Jenny was such a beautiful ray of sunshine. Her joy and energy was infectious and I loved her journey to realising what she wanted in her life and watching her thrive in the home town that had once felt stifling to her.
And I really loved Blake. She was so awkward and shy and closed off and just so relatable, to be honest. I loved how supportive and kind and understanding she was, and how much she just wanted to help people.
I can’t recommend this one enough!
(Though when are we gonna get an Aussie sapphic romcom, Elizabeth??)

This was a very happy romcom and a quick read! I liked the two main characters Jenny and Blake a lot, and the dual POV was written well, both had their individual voices and it was easy to understand each of their motivations. There is lots of chemistry between the characters, and even though they start out not liking each other, and there are some bumps on the road for their story, there overall was no unnecessary drama or too much miscommunication (as can often be found in romcom books).
The only thing I felt fell a bit flat was the explanation why Jenny had problems with her job. From how it is described in the beginning, I thought it was something huge that was her fault (or at least where people could think it was her fault, something like a foto where it looks she treats Walter badly). But it was just accusations to a company she represented. Maybe I am too idealistic, and social media really works like this. But it is not the job of an influencer to investigate companies, especially if the company lied and Jenny had no reason to not believe what they said about their products was true. Okay I can understand if she loses followers because of it, but the way it is described as something almost carreer-ending felt a bit out of proportion.
I'd recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a sapphic romance with autumn vibes and without too much drama and with very likable characters.

Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
The perfect sapphic romcom for fall!
Jenny Lynton, an influencer who is laying low after a minor PR scandal, returns to her small hometown for her best friend’s wedding. Back in town, she crosses paths with Blake Mitchell—the town’s only doctor, who has forever been awkward around Jenny due to a long-harbored secret crush from high school. As the two are forced to work together to save a friend’s Bachelorette Party, they find themselves increasingly more attracted to each other, even as they both fight their own demons that brought them back to town in the first place.
I loved the dynamic between Jenny and Blake, and I was a big fan of the dual POV as I looked forward to hearing from both characters. Their romance was sweet, spicy, and funny in all of the right ways, and the book was overall well-paced. In addition to the romance, both characters navigated different paths of personal struggle and self-discovery in a way that felt satisfying, but not over-burdening for the reader, which kept the overall tone of the book fairly light and fun.
I would recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a cozy, fall romance with a little bit of spice. There have been so many excellent queer romances coming out in the past couple of years and I will definitely add this one to my list I recommend to friends and patrons alike. I can’t wait for George’s story in the next book!

I really enjoyed this book! Did I read it in one sitting because I had to know the outcome, yes. Was it worth it? Also yes. Jenny and Blame are an adorable couple and their inner monologues on their relationship as it progresses is honest, realistic but also hilarious. There were a few times I had to pause for slighter to stop so I could continue to read. I was so excited to bet this ARC and I am so happy that it did not disappoint.
My kids started back to school recently and even though it’s only August my brain immediately associates back to school with fall. I had an instant switch to craving reads about all the fall things and the book landed on my kindle at the most perfect time because it’s the coziest, cutest romance set during fall with so many fall activities and vibes. Blake and Jenny both secretly pined for each other and this light angst was so perfect for my mood. It’s a slow burn that was worth the wait because once these two hooked their chemistry was hot. Sapphire Springs was the cutest little town and I’m thrilled it’s the start of a new series. Such a delightful read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Side note Elizabeth asked if she could name the bookshop/cafe Novel Gossip!! Seeing it in her book was just the coolest and now I kind of want to open my own bookshop/cafe with the same name 😂

Goodness, this was the cutest autumn romance. As warm and cozy as enjoying a cup of hot cider while snuggled in one’s favorite sweater. Though I’m bored by the big city gal moved back to her small home town trope in cishet romances, make it sapphic and I am all in. Especially when the love interest (and my newest book girlfriend), Blake, is a sexy, soft butch doctor who gets a Mr. Darcy moment that is everything. Someone needs to snap up the movie rights ASAP because I need to see that scene committed to film like I need air. Jenny was adorable and lovable as well, and surprisingly not shallow for an influencer.
Such a lovely book. Highly recommended.
