Always a fan of Ishiguro’s writing, knows how to delicately tackle dark ideas with immense wisdom and wit. Themes of love, music, fame and failure stretch across 5 short stories. Think this is the first short story book I’ve read since I was very young, the narrators in each story do lack character development which is expected within only a few dozen pages for each story, however, in the majority of the stories the lead perspective was from a straight man aged around 40 with a passion for music, kind of felt like the same man throughout but just with different names.
These stories provide exactly what you'd expect from Ishiguro -- clear and succinct, tight plots, somewhat slow moving stories. Still, he's a great writer and storyteller, and I would recommend anything he writes.

Lots of pretty compact stories about love, music and the love of music
I always like his sad, sad stories about humans and their yearnings...
Kazuo’s writing was as lucid and honest as ever, but the truth he is sharing this time round is less universal than his usual. The paradox of a crooner who sings about true love remarrying for show is real, but not particularly fresh or relevant to me, or your average reader
A charming collection of short stories loosely connected by music and relationships. Entertaining and very funny in places, but perhaps lacking a bit of depth and continuity.
Enjoyable nonetheless. A good light read.
