Not his best work, but still very much Ishiguro. Enjoyable stories.
While not bad, this book of short stories wasn't memorable or interesting enough to highly recommend. I bought this collection because I had so enjoyed Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go but these stories, although well written, didn't offer much.

I liked this a lot. It has been a while since I read anything by Kazuo Ishiguro, and would rank this below Never Let me Go and above Remains of the Day.
It is a collection of five stories set across Europe. Each story is somehow tied to music—in most cases, the characters are musicians. The writing is very simple and easy to follow, and the stories are straightforward. Ishiguro’s characters are the most interesting pieces of these stories. They are deeply emotional and relatable, each dealing with some kind of loss or failure.
I will also add that I read this in under 24 hours. I always appreciate a quick read, and this definitely falls into that category. I am not sure if it will stick with me in the same was as some other books have, but I quite enjoyed the act of reading it.

Lovely little stories, some of which tire unexpectedly to each other beyond the theme of music.

maybe I am just not getting the point or I don’t vibe with his writing but this was a difficult read for me! very confusing and I struggled to find the themes in each story.
