I wasn't expecting how quickly it would go from learning about these wonderful creatures to what our impact has been and is going to be. You should just be prepared for that. That said, it was a wonderful book and I highly recommend it.

The narrative in the first half felt somewhat directionless at times (and mostly talked about only male scientists/explorers…), but it gets bonus points for the pigbutt worm!
