I originally picked this book up to mail it to a friend who used to overuse the phrase “apropos of nothing” but now I think I might burn it instead? It’s badly written, which can be forgiven, and the main character is also basically a super selfish edgelord, which could be fine if he was redeemed or killed at the end, but he isn’t, and then also the whole sorry tale is misogynist and slightly homophobic and pretty racist towards gypsies and references both the Wizard of Oz and Harry Potter in a weirdly smug way, and overall the whole thing is incredible punchable.

This reminded me of why I love Peter David's writing so much--hilarious! I love the visual references, too, and the puns. Sure, it's not exactly witty, but it's a good time regardless.

Another example of where I wish I could give half stars. This was part of my comic bento shipment last month, nothing I would have ever picked up myself but a decent read with some fun lines.
