I wasn't sure what to expect from The Fae Isles, as this is a prequel book for a new series yet to come, but I was pleasantly surprised! It took me a bit to get invested, probably +/- chapter 5 or 6 or so, but once you get past that point I was invested and needed to know what happened between Allie and Agenor. The magic system is intriguing, and I look forward to learning more about it in the first book-book of the series, out later this year.
